Recruitment of candidates to Army, Navy and Air force wings of the National Defence Academy (NDA), is through National Defence Academy Entrance Exam which is held twice a year, generally in the month of April and September. NDA exam is conducted by the UPSC. A candidate must be an unmarried male. The course of training is for three years.

 Recruitment of candidates to Army, Navy and Air force wings of the CDS, is through Combined Defence Services Entrance Exam which is held twice a year, generally in the month of April and September. CDS exam is conducted by the UPSC. A candidate must be an unmarried male.

NTRODUCTION 

Combined defence Service exam is conducted by UPSC twice every year for recruitment to office cadre of the Army, Navy and Airforce Combined. CDS exam is conducted generally in the months of  Feb and October. 

Candidates qualifying the written test are interviewed  by the Service Selection Board and  if finally selected, depending upon the choice given by the candidates and  their merit list ranking, are sent to one of the following institutes for orientation Training: 

(a) Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun

(b) Naval Academy, Goa

(c) Air Force Academy, Begumpet, Hyderabad

(d) Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai

• CDS : This National level is Exam held twice a year. Boys and girls from any stream of graduation can apply.
• Students in 4th SEM of graduation and BE students in 6th SEM can apply.
• No % age criteria in 12th or graduation.
• Any number of chances can be availed till the age of 24.
• Exam results are declared after approx 100 days. Candidates who pass get SSB interview call.
• CDS form to be filled online on www.upsc.nic.in after notification appears in Employment News.

AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test): Indian Air Force invites application to join the Indian Air Force as Commissioned Officers in Flying, Technical and Ground Duty branches

IMPORTANT POINTS:

• This National level exam held twice a year. Boys and girls from any stream of graduation can apply. Students in 4th SEM of graduation and BE students in 6th SEM can apply and any PG also can apply.
• No %age criteria in 12th, minimum 60% required in graduation.
• For Flying Branch:12th with PCM required only ; for Technical Branch: BE required; for Ground Duties Branch; Graduation/PG in any stream.
• Any number of chances can be availed till the age of 24.
• Candidates applying for Technical Branch have to pass in EKT also. 

Merchant Navy Coaching in Chandigarh

The responsibility for training of personnel for the Indian merchant navy lies with Government of India functioning through the Ministry of Surface Transport. These are two pre-sea training institutions for maritime education. Training ship ‘Chanakya' prepares cadets for the navigation discipline. The highest post of navigating officer is that of a Master of a ship. In the case of Marine engineer the highest post is of Chief Engineer.
